Zombie Bo Peep Attacks!

It was news to me to learn that I was Zombie Bo Peep for Halloween even though I could have sworn I was dressed as an Indian Wedding Guest at my friend Bindi's wedding in Houston. Someone should also explain to Brian what is appropriate e-mail etiquette when discussing my Tupperware clients. Seriously Brian. Maybe I didn't want Jan knowing a) I bought my Halloween Costume from Trashy.com, b) I shared my sexy Bo Peep photos with you and that you can't seem to get enough of them or c) I don't really know what they hell I am doing when it comes to selling Tupperware.

Subject: Customer Situation

Hi Lindsay,

Brian Here! Hey, I have loved your Halloween pix! For real Bo Peep or Zombie Bo Peep, they were both cute!
I got copied on this Tupperware customer situation. I don't know the story behind it. Let me know if I can be of any help!

Brian

Apparently Gmail Has Caught On

My friend Jess alerted me that she read about a new feature Gmail is testing called "Got the Wrong Bob."

I would love to think this was inspired by my blog, but once I took a look at what Wrong Bob actually does I realized this would in no way help people find the right Lindsay Anderson, only the right Lindsay already in their address books. And folks, just to get things straight, there's only one Lindsay Anderson worth knowing. ME.

But this got me thinking. How could the bright minds at Google solve my little problem? One idea might be to catalog the location of Gmail users and if there is more than one user with a very similar email address, to have a screen pop-up after you hit send asking if you are meaning to send this to Lindsay Anderson in New York, NY, Chicago, IL or Washington, D.C. However, mayhem would most likely ensue if there was more than one Lindsay Anderson in a given city. Let's keep in mind there is a reason I am not smart enough to actually work at Google.

So Googlebodies, get your algorithms revving, because I am leaving this quandary to you. And you know you'll have an overenthusiastic beta tester in me. In the meantime, maybe I can seek out this Wrong Bob character and trade war stories with him.

Wrong Lindsay Runs the Chicago Marathon!

As many of you know, I ran the Chicago Marathon this past Sunday. It turns out a Wrong Lindsay ran it too! Congrats for your great finish Lindsay Anderson from Valparaiso, IN. Too bad the Right Lindsay schooled you by almost an hour :P.

That got me thinking...did she also run it when I did it back in 2007? Naturally, I did some digging and...she did! In fact, it turns out there were three Lindsay Andersons that year. Do you think it's just a coincidence or do Lindsay Andersons carry the marathon gene?

Wrong Lindsay REPLY

Sometimes when I am in one of my more sassy moods I reply to my senders. It's pretty much a form response ("Hello, I fear you've reached me in error..."), but I do always try to make an effort to personalize it and address their original e-mail. Developing a good rapport with Wrong Lindsay senders is just as important as letting them know they are W-R-O-N-G. Here's a classic exchange:

Ira & Ricki to lindsay.anderson@gmail.com

Thanks for sending us the pictures. You and Oma share a hatred and fear of snakes. What an unpleasant surprise. We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks.

Love,
Opa

Lindsay Anderson to Ira
Hi,

I fear this may have gotten to the wrong Lindsay Anderson. I live in New York City and certainly haven't been near any snakes lately! Though I do hate them too!

Hope you find the right person,
Lindsay

Random Wrong Lindsay Thought of the Week

If I am getting all these e-mails for these other Lindsay Andersons, I wonder how many of mine they get...?

Overdue Library Books

I am currently reading Moby Dick. It's been my summer reading that has er...gone into the fall. This Lindsay Anderson's interests clearly go much deeper than angry albino aquatic mammals, high sea exploration and classic American Literature. Urban planning to childhood development to Ordinary People. WHOA! Random! And they are all overdue! Sister, this isn't Netflix. It's the Georgetown Public Library. Return your books so they stop sending me e-mails.
